Dr. Jan Carlos Prazak grew up in Peru and graduated from Cayetano Heredia Medical School. He then completed his Internal Medicine Residency, Gastroenterology Fellowship, and Advanced Interventional Endoscopy Fellowship at Henry Ford Hospital, a large academic and tertiary referral health system in Michigan.
Dr. Prazak specializes in Advanced Endoscopy, including Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS), complex ERCP (Spyglass cholangioscopy, Sphincter of Oddi manometry, post-surgical anatomy, etc.), endoluminal stenting, endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR), treatment of Barrett’s Esophagus with radiofrequency ablation (HALO/BARRX), single-balloon/Spirus enteroscopy, and other techniques.
Dr. Prazak has a passion for teaching and strives to educate his patients about their illnesses. He believes in empowering patients to be active participants in their care.
He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. He is fluent in Spanish.
